They are based around the world and are united in their pursuit of under-reported stories that are essential in shedding light on global issues. Aurélie Fontaine is a freelance multimedia journalist based in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). After completing her studies, she worked as a reporter in Senegal and Ivory Coast. She has worked with RTS (Radio Télévision Suisse), RTBF (Radio Télévision Belge Francophone), BBC Afrique, Médi 1 (Morrocan Francophone Radio), Radio Canada, Jeune Afrique, Le Soir, Libération, Ouest-France, Rue89, Anadolu (Turkish press agency) and BFM TV in France. In 2012, she co-founded the reporters collective Bégué Press, whose objective is to produce radio, TV, web and written content about West Africa. Fontaine studied journalism in Institut Pratique de Journalisme (IPJ) in Paris, France.
