Emily
Nwankwo is a media consultant based in Nairobi, Kenya. Her experience
includes 18 years in all phases of publishing. Most recently, she was
general manager of the Nation Media Group Limited, based in Nairobi.
Previously, she served as manager of The East African, a Kenyan
newspaper also owned by the Nation Media Group. She has also served
as group circulation manager and publications editor for the Nation
Media Group.
Particularly interested in women in the media and HIV/AIDS prevention, Nwankwo has served as a consultant for family health and AIDS prevention programs in South Africa, Tanzania, Zimbabwe, Nigeria, Uganda and Zambia. She has written widely on HIV/AIDS prevention and socio-economic issues in Africa and is an editorial consultant to the United Nations Population Fund.
