Bunyan is the primary anchor for WJLA-TV, the ABC affiliate in Washington,
DC. She is one-half of the only female news anchor team in the Washington,
DC, area and one of only a few such teams in the United States.
Before joining WJLA, Bunyan headed her own communications consulting company, was chief correspondent for PBS' Religions and Ethics Newsweekly, and was a frequent substitute host for Talk of the Nation on National Public Radio and The Derek McGinty Show on WAMU Radio.
From 1973-1995, Bunyan was the lead anchor at WUSA-TV, the CBS affiliate in Washington, DC, where she covered major national and international stories. She has won seven local Emmys and was named 1992 Journalist of the Year by the National Association of Black Journalists.
