Gifti Nadi
Senior Africa Program Officer
Gifti Nadi is the IWMF’s senior Africa program officer. Nadi manages journalism training programs and develops partnership opportunities for the IWMF with women journalists, media associations and other international organizations throughout Africa. From 2000 - 2004, Nadi was project manager for the African Women’s Media Center, a project of the IWMF. She began working for the IWMF in 1999 as a consultant to its programs in Senegal, Kenya and Namibia.
From 1997 – 1999, Nadi was the public relations associate for the National Summit on Africa, based in Washington, DC. She was a workgroup coordinator for the Society for International Development in Washington, DC, from 1996 - 1997. She received the Truman Award for Leadership and Innovation by Young Professionals in International Development from the Society for International Development in 2003.
Nadi holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology from the University of Maryland. She speaks French and Amharic.
