Kerry Smith is vice president of editorial quality for ABC News, based in New York. Prior to moving to New York, Smith was a senior producer at ABC News in Washington, DC, where she supervised the Washington bureau's magazine division.

 

During her more than 23 years in television news, Smith has produced everything from breaking news and investigative reports to historical documentaries for the ABC network. In 1992, Smith was named broadcast producer for the investigative unit at the ABC newsmagazine, Day One. In 1994, she became senior producer for the weekend edition of World News Tonight.

 

Smith won a Peabody Award for a documentary on the 50th anniversary of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, a co-production with NHK Television of Japan.
