Linda Peek Schacht is acting chair and scholar-in-residence in the department of Organizational & Political Communication at Emerson College. From 2002-2006, she was a fellow at Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government in the Center for Public Leadership and the Center for Business and Government.

Peek is the former vice president and director of communications strategy for The Coca-Cola Company. Her twenty-year public affairs career includes positions in government, politics, education and corporations.

Peek served in the Carter White House Office of Media Liaison and as campaign press secretary for the 1980 Carter-Mondale re-election campaign. As the first public affairs director of USA Today, she oversaw publicity, government relations and special events during the newspaper's development and launch from 1980-1983. She was the communications director of the U.S. Senate Democratic Policy Committee and spokesperson for the Majority Leader.

Peek left Capitol Hill in 1988 to become a vice president in the Washington office of Robinson, Lake, Lerer and Montgomery. She moved to New York in 1989 to join RJR Nabisco’s Next Century Schools initiative for a year. Peek is also president of the Mike Schacht Foundation, which provides workshops in art and writing for children and young adults.
