IWMF Condemns Killing of Colombian Journalist

October 2, 2015 — The IWMF decries the recent killing of Nimia Peña Pedroza, a 28 year-old woman journalist from Valledupar, Colombia. The killing of Ms. Pedroza marks the fourth journalist killing this year in the country this year alone, possibly signaling a deadly and targeted trend against press freedom. The IWMF hopes that the Colombian authorities will bring Pedroza’s murderers to justice and that it takes a firm stand against impunity for such abuses against the press.
