Liza Gross
Liza Gross, executive managing editor of El Nuevo Dia,
the largest circulation daily in Puerto Rico, has 22 years experience
in journalism and communications.
Prior to her move to Puerto Rico, Gross was publisher of Exito,
the Spanish-language daily of the Chicago Tribune, a position
she held for four-and-a-half years. Under her stewardship, Exito
won several national awards for news writing, photography, editorial
and advertising design.
A native of Argentina, Gross was an instructor and editor for the Latin
American Journalism Program, an educational initiative of Florida International
University. In this capacity, she traveled extensively throughout the
Western Hemisphere, where she lectured in newsrooms and media organizations.
She also edited the program's Spanish-language journalism textbook series.
Gross was a reporter and editor at the Latin American Desk of The Associated
Press in New York City, managing editor of Hispanic Magazine
and executive editor of Times of the Americas, a Washington-DC-based
bimonthly covering Latin America and the Caribbean. Her articles have
appeared in numerous publications in the United States and Latin America.
She received a Kiplinger Midcareer Journalism Fellowship and a Robert
R. McCormick Tribune Foundation Fellowship.
