In 2013, the Courage in Journalism Awards honor Najiba Ayubi, Director of The Killid Group, a public media group in Afghanistan; Nour Kelze, photographer and stringer for Reuters in Syria; Bopha Phorn, reporter for The Cambodia Daily in Phnom Penh; and Edna Machirori for her Lifetime Achievement as a journalist in Zimbabwe. The Award ceremonies were held in New York on October 23, and in Los Angeles on October 29.

The 2013 Lifetime Achievement Award honors Edna Machirori, Zimbabwe’s first female newspaper editor.
