The FIC AIDS International Training and Research Program (AITRP) enables U.S. universities and other research institutions to provide HIV/AIDS-related training to scientists and health professionals from developing nations and forges collaborative ties with research institutions in countries with a high rate of HIV/AIDS. |

U.S. Peace Corps OTAPS, Health Sector www.peacecorps.gov Peace Corps is a U.S. government organization with approximately 7,000 volunteers serving in more than 90 countries worldwide. A growing number of Peace Corps countries are developing HIV/AIDS projects. HIV/AIDS-related work conducted by Peace Corps volunteers includes peer education programs for youth, English curricula programs with HIV/AIDS content, and programs to build the capacity of health workers to conduct HIV/AIDS counseling and education. Peace Corps posts receive USAID funding to develop projects and training in HIV/AIDS prevention and care. |
