Alexandra Trower
The Estee Lauder Companies Inc. Alexandra C. Trower is Executive Vice President, Global Communications, at The Estée Lauder Companies, a position she assumed in 2008. In this role, Ms. Trower oversees corporate, social, crisis, philanthropic and Lauder family communications. She serves on the Executive Leadership Team, is an Executive Officer of the company and reports directly to William P. Lauder, Executive Chairman. Ms. Trower is also a founding Executive Sponsor of the company’s LGBTQA employee resource group. Ms. Trower has more than 25 years of experience, with diverse expertise in financial, corporate, mergers and acquisitions, consumer and crisis communications. Before joining The Estée Lauder Companies, Ms. Trower was Senior Vice President, Media Relations, for Bank of America. In this role, she led a global team that enhanced the company’s brand, image and reputation in the United States and abroad through integrated media, communications and marketing. In addition, she served as a senior communications advisor to executive leadership on business strategy, acquisitions, product introductions, customer issues, litigation, crisis management and government relations. From 1997 to 2003, Ms. Trower was a Managing Director at JPMorgan Chase, where she was responsible for Corporate Communications at JPMorgan Fleming Asset Management. Prior to that role, she spent 10 years at Chancellor LGT Asset Management, now part of Invesco, and was Vice President of Corporate Communications at her departure. Ms. Trower graduated from Hollins University in Roanoke, Virginia, one of the country’s leading women’s universities. She serves on the Hollins’ Board of Trustees, is a member of the Board’s Executive Committee and was the keynote commencement speaker in 2011. Ms. Trower also serves as Co-Chair of the Board of Directors of the International Women’s Media Foundation (IWMF), and she was the recipient of the organization’s Corporate Leadership Award in 2014. In addition, Ms. Trower is a member of the Board of The Estée Lauder Companies Charitable Foundation and the Secular Society, both of which are committed to supporting girls and women with a particular focus on education. In 2018, Ms. Trower became a trustee of the boards of 65 mutual funds in the American Funds family, one of the largest and oldest mutual fund families in the United States.
