IWMF Team Grows

International Women’s Media Foundation Appoints Charlotte Fox as Director of Communications

Senior public relations strategist brings strong reputation management and women’s issues experience

[WASHINGTON, D.C.: September 18, 2018] – The International Women’s Media Foundation today announced the appointment of Charlotte Fox as the organization’s director of communications, leading public relations strategy for the IWMF in Washington, D.C. and joining a growing team focused on supporting, protecting and elevating female journalists around the world.

Given Fox’s extensive experience supporting private and public sector awareness campaigns, she will further develop and direct IWMF’s internal and external engagement strategies. Fox will also be a member of the IWMF’s leadership team, helping to promote the unique value proposition of the organization and the assets of its staff and board members.

“Charlotte’s expertise directing engagement campaigns for non-profit organizations is one of the many reasons we are thrilled to welcome her to the IWMF family,” says Elisa Lees Muñoz, executive director of the IWMF. “The national discourse on gender equity and freedom within the press is at a critical juncture. We look forward to Charlotte further engaging our key constituents and raising the profile of our foundation and the work of female journalists.”

Fox joins the IWMF from global public relations agency MSL. As a vice president, she secured and directed numerous accounts focused on issues in public education, health care, media and gender equity for the Aimed Alliance, Al Jazeera, Blackboard, Cisco, HealthyWomen, USAID and many more. Fox also directed media training and message development to help her clients revitalize their mission and impact. Prior to her role with MSL, Fox managed public relations activities at two other Washington, D.C. agencies, including FleishmanHillard.

“My experience working on education, health and gender equity programs makes it a joy to join an essential foundation like the IWMF,” says Fox. “Despite pushing against a rising tide of roadblocks and oppression, female journalists are continuing to transform the way we receive and understand global news. I look forward to further promoting the vital work of women in the media, and heightening the demand for the IMWF’s critical programs and services.”
