Dagna Gallinger is a director and producer whose work has been broadcast in over 15 countries. She is currently producing hour-long documentaries for VICE Studio Canada; topics have included white nationalism and the war in Iraq. Gallinger co-developed, directed and produced the VICE show Cyberwar, which examines how hackers are shaping politics worldwide. The 24-episode series is now on Hulu. In 2019, Gallinger released her first independent short documentary. Commissioned by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC), SHOOK follows young Mexicans who run for local office on an anti-corruption platform after the 2017 earthquake devastated their town. Gallinger has been in and out of Mexico for the past three years. Her reporting there has been focused on surveillance and the 2018 elections. Gallinger began working as a journalist more than a decade ago in CBC Radio’s current affairs department, after graduating from Ryerson University’s School of Journalism.
