
Ana is a biologist with MSc in Zoology and a PhD in Paleontology. Based in São Paulo, Brazil, Ana reports on science and health for Folha de S.Paulo since 2020. During this time, she has largely published on the subjects of Environment, Science and Health, especially with the coverage of the Covid-19 pandemic, with over 700 articles published so far. The 5 most-read articles focused on scientific information about Covid vaccines and the importance of health measurements. She was a recipient of the 1st InfoVacina Journalism Award in the category "Explanatory and Service" in 2022, finalist in the award of the most admired Science, Well-being and Health reporters of Brazil, and received an honourable mention for her coverage during the Covid-19 pandemic in 2021. She is also a grantee from EJN (Earth Journalist Network) on reporting on the Western Amazon and of Fundação Grupo Boticário for reporting on the environmental issues in the coastal areas of Rio and São Paulo. She is curator of the newsletter Cuide-se, about Science, Health and Well-Being.
