Annie Hylton is an award-winning investigative journalist and magazine writer from Canada, based in Paris. She is a non-practicing lawyer with a background in international humanitarian law and human rights (she received her J.D. in Canada and her LL.M. in Geneva) and is a graduate of Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism where she was a Stabile fellow of investigative journalism. She reports on gender, migration, and human rights and has reported from Central America, East and West Africa, Europe, and the Middle East. Her reporting has been published with The New Republic, The London Review of Books, Longreads, The Walrus, and many others. Hylton is a recipient of the 2018 NYU Reporting Award, where she is a visiting scholar with the Arthur L. Carter Journalism Institute, and teaches investigative journalism at Sciences Po Paris.
