Arfie Ghedi is a journalist and audio producer. She grew up in Minneapolis, Minnesota and attended Howard University. She is currently a producer on 1A from WAMU and NPR. She began as an intern on 1A in 2019 and was hired as a full-time producer in 2021. She has worked as an assistant producer at Minnesota Public Radio and interned at CityLab and Twin Cities PBS. She has been nominated twice for a Salute to Excellence Award from the National Association of Black Journalists, in 2019 and 2023 — the most recent being for a show on gang violence in Haiti. As an audio producer on a daily news show, she covers a variety of topics, but is most interested in covering immigration policy, international news, and culture. She is also particularly proud of 1A’s ongoing video game coverage, and of her own video game reviews which have appeared in NPR.
