Belle Cushing is an award-winning producer and reporter based in New York City. She is currently a producer with Vice News, where she produces stories ranging from daily news reports to long-form documentaries. In reporting, she examines the effects of public policy on everyday lives. Her focus is on U.S. immigration policy, but she has also reported on gun regulation, voting rights, and drug pricing. She graduated from Brown University in 2013, and did master’s coursework in international development and human rights at Science Po’s Paris School of International Affairs. Before joining Vice, she was an editor and podcast producer at Bon Appétit magazine. As a freelance writer, her work has appeared in various outlets including the Village Voice, New York magazine, and GQ. Belle was part of the team behind Zero Tolerance, a special report on family separation, for which she won an Emmy for Outstanding Feature Story in a Newscast and a 2018 Front Page Award for Investigative Reporting. As a 2018 FASPE fellow, she spent two weeks in Germany and Poland studying journalism ethics.
