Caroline Chebet

Caroline Chebet is a Kenyan journalist covering Conservation and Environmental issues, Science, Women rights and Agriculture. Her stories have been featured in local and international platforms including The Standard and Daily Nation in Kenya, Mail&Guardian, Mongabay, The Independent and The Continent. Caroline is also a fellow with Giants Club Africa Conservation Journalism Fellowships. She has pursued investigative features on cross-border smuggling of donkeys in East Africa, Trafficking of African Grey parrots in Kenya among others. Her investigative features have also been featured in the Global Initiative against Transnational Organised Crimes(GI-TOC) Risk Bulletin. In 2021, she her story featuring the restoration initiative inside Kenya’s Tana Delta won the 2021 Media Council of Kenya’s Annual Journalism Excellence Award. She believes in the power of story-telling to amplify people’s voices and influence public perceptions.
