Cherri Gregg, Esq. is a known quantity in the Greater Philadelphia region, serving as the co-host of WHYY’s daily news show, Studio 2, as well as an afternoon drive news anchor for the station. An award-winning journalist, Cherri has a distinguished career covering civil rights, social justice, race, poverty and public affairs issues impacting marginalized communities. She spent nearly a decade on air at KYW Newsradio and several years doing reports for CBS 3 Eyewitness News. Cherri served as KYW’s Community Affairs reporter and was the creator, host and executive producer of the weekly, syndicated radio show and podcast, Flashpoint with Cherri Gregg. Under her leadership, the show earned two regional Edward R. Murrow Awards in 2021. Cherri, who is also a licensed attorney, is a founding Board Member of the Law & Justice Journalism Project. The non-profit works to change the narrative on criminal justice reporting by training reporters on how to better investigate and report on public safety, crime and courts. Cherri’s most recent role is entrepreneur. She is the founder of Create. Genius. Media. LLC., an engine dedicated to amplifying the stories and experiences of Black and brown people. The firm’s mission is to create journalism that exposes injustice, educates and empowers communities, while sharing narratives in a way that is both engaging and entertaining. In addition to creating works of journalism, CGM offers media training and consulting services. CGM strives to create platforms where underrepresented and diverse voices can shine, influence and shape the broader cultural landscape.
