Chika Oduah is an independent multimedia journalist. Based in Senegal, Oduah has worked as a television news producer, writer, photographer, video journalist and an on-air TV and radio correspondent. Her stories, published in Voice of America, New York Times, CNN, The Guardian, Al Jazeera, Foreign Policy, The Atlantic, The Associated Press, BBC and other outlets, explore culture, conflict, human rights, history, development and the lives of women in sub-Saharan Africa. Oduah is known for her reports on the deadly extremist group, Boko Haram. She is one of the few journalists reporting on-the-ground where Boko Haram operates. She has received numerous awards from organizations including the Thomson Reuters Foundation, CNN, International Center for Journalists, United Nations Foundation.
