Christabel Ligami is a Kenyan freelance journalist based in Nairobi, Kenya. Ligami writes on science, health, development, and climate change in Kenya, the East African region, and Africa as a whole. She has six years of experience working as a journalist for the East African Newspaper, scidev.net SubSahara Africa, Equal Times magazine of Belgium, and ScienceAfrica. She has previously been named East Africa’s Science/Health reporter of the year (2013), Business reporter of the year (2013), and Financial reporter of the year (2014). The IWMF will be funding Ligami’s for reporting on Masaai women’s use of solar technology.
