Christin is a freelance multimedia journalist based in Abidjan, Ivory Coast. Before moving to Africa, Christin worked as a reporter in newsrooms across Chicago and Washington, D.C. for more than six years. She currently reports on social justice, gender equality, politics and development topics for outlets including Associated Press, Voice of America, USA Today and The Christian Science Monitor. She covers topics spanning the West Africa region including politics in Cote d’Ivoire, women's literacy in Senegal, present day slavery in Mali and e-waste in Ghana. Christin is a videographer at heart, but also has experience reporting for radio and web. Born in Saint Louis, Missouri, Christin holds a Bachelors degree in Broadcast Journalism from Howard University, as well as a Masters degree in Videography from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University.
