Deonna Anderson is the editorial director at Next City, which reports on solutions to social issues in cities. She previously served as a senior editor at GreenBiz and was Next City’s 2017-2018 Equitable Cities Reporting Fellow. While at YES! Magazine, Anderson won Indigenous Journalists Association awards for her reporting on Indigenous communities. She has also reported for KLCC (an NPR affiliate station in Eugene, Oregon), The Lily, Atmos and other media outlets. Anderson is an alumna of the University of California, Davis and the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism at CUNY. She lives on the unceded land of the Ohlone people, now known as the Bay Area.
