Ehizogie Ohiani

Ehizogie Ohiani is a journalist, a radio producer, a media trainer, mentor and a media entrepreneur. She began her career as a radio producer in 2004 and is currently a Principal Producer at the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, Kapital FM, Abuja. She has produced programmes and reports that concern the development of women and girls in the society, discussing issues like domestic violence, rape, women's access to health facilities, justice and education. She also served as a Producer and Trainer at BBC Media Action Nigeria where she mentored other producers in radio stations across the different parts of Nigeria. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mass Communication from Imo State University, Imo State Owerri. She is also graduate of Journalism from the International Institute of Journalism, Abuja. She has professional training in media ethics, programme production, reporting, podcasting and social media marketing. In 2009, she won the 2nd runner up award of “Journalists Against AIDS & Red Ribbon Award” for reporting on women, children and HIV. She has a passion for the development of women and in 2011 and 2013 she successfully organized editions of women conferences tagged “Rare Gems Connect”, where over 100 women gathered to learn new skills and about their rights. As a media entrepreneur, she has a podcast that discusses the kind of decisions women make every day and how it affects their lives. She cherishes her family time and invests in things that bring her humor. Ehizogie Ohiani, lives in Abuja, Nigeria.
