Ferdinand Mbonihankuye is an investigative journalist from Burundi, renowned for his expertise in data, science, the environment and science journalism. As a member of RJSAF ( Network of Science Journalists in French-speaking Africa) and co-founder of Ibihe, he is also a correspondent for SciDev.Net. With six years' media experience, he specializes in investigative journalism, with a particular focus on environmental crime, water and environmental health. He holds notable fellowships, including from iwmf.org (Global Health Reporting Initiative), CPHIA 2023 Fellowship, infonile.org, rainforest journalism fund/pulitzercenter.org, Aga Khan University, and Participants-Climate Finance Reporting Academy. He is the winner of the 2023 World Conference of French-Speaking Science Journalists Investigative Fellowships. He contributes as a reporter for The Niles, trtafrika.com, GV, africanliberty.org, Mondo blog, yaga-burundi.com, cde greatlakes.org, and insideburundi.org. His passion for science journalism led him to receive a grant from the African Development Bank for the African Climate Summit 2023.
