Garnet Henderson is Rewire News Group‘s Senior Multiplatform Reporter. Prior to joining RNG, she spent a decade as a freelance journalist reporting on the intersections of health and culture, with a particular focus on abortion access. Her guide to abortion care in the U.S. won a 2018 Deadline Club Award as part of the Tonic “Guide to Healthcare." In 2023, her exclusive feature on the nation’s first fleet of mobile abortion clinics, along with Cosmopolitan’s other post-Dobbs abortion coverage, won a National Headliner Award. Her work has also been published in The Nation, ELLE, Scientific American, Marie Claire, Guardian US, WIRED, and more. Since 2020, she has been the host and sole producer of ACCESS: A Podcast About Abortion, a show that challenges dominant media narratives through first-person stories and expert perspectives. Garnet was born and raised in Jackson, Wyoming, graduated cum laude from Columbia University, and lives in New York City.
