Graham Liddell is a former editor of the news site Middle East Eye whose writing also has appeared in The Detroit News, Huck Magazine and AlterNet. He is a PhD candidate in comparative literature at the University of Michigan, where he is researching the role of storytelling among Arabic- and Persian-speaking refugees.
