Greta Rico is a Mexican documentary photographer focused on issues related to gender, human rights and social issues. Her work has been published in magazines, print and digital media such as The HuffPost Mexico, El Universal, Milenio, La Crítica and Lado B among others. She has collaborated with different brands such as Apple, Herschel, Timberland, Danielle Wellington, Pachuca Festival of Culture and Wind in Mexico, the Dolores Olmedo Museum and the Mining Palace in Mexico City. Greta was recently selected as an Eddie Adams Workshop that will take place in October of this year. She was was also selected in the National Photography Contest 2019 Human Rights in October, 2019. Last March se was selected as a Fellow for the International Women's Media Fund to participate in the "Adelante" Program in Latin America. She was selected as a finalist in the "XI Edition of the IILA-Photography Award" on gender equity in February 2019. In the summer of last year she was awarded a scholarship by the Bob and Diane Fund to attend the Foundry Photojournalism Workshop in Calcutta, India in July of 2018. She was part of the selection for the contest "The Force of Women before Disappearances in Mexico" in 2018 and of the International Photography Contest "Diversity and Peace" in 2017. Greta is a faithful promoter of mobile photography, her work on this can be known through her Instagram account (@gretarico). When she is not photographing, she´s dedicated to designing communication and public relations strategies as an independent consultant.

Greta Rico es fotógrafa documental mexicana enfocada en temas relacionados con el género, derechos humanos y cuestiones sociales. Su trabajo ha sido publicado en revistas, medios impresos y digitales como The HuffPost México, El Universal, Milenio, La Crítica y Lado B entre otros. Ha colaborado con diferentes marcas como Apple, Herschel, Timberland, Danielle Wellington, El Festival de la Cultura y el Viento de Pachuca en México, el Museo Dolores Olmedo y el Palacio de Minería de la Ciudad de México. Greta fue recientemente seleccionada como parte de la generación XXXII del Eddie Adams Workshop, mismo que se llevó a cabo en octubre de este año. De igual forma, uno de sus trabajos documentales fue seleccionado en el Concurso Nacional de Fotografía 2019 Los Derechos Humanos en octubre de 2019. En mayo de este mismo año fue seleccionada como Becaria del International Women´s Media Fund para participar en el Programa “Adelante” en América Latina. Fue seleccionada como finalista en la “XI Edición del Premio IILA-Fotografía” sobre equidad de género en febrero de 2019. En el verano del año pasado fue becada por el Bob and Diane Fund para asistir al Foundry Photojournalism Workshop en Calcuta, India en julio de 2018. Formó parte de la selección para el concurso “La Fuerza de las Mujeres ante las Desapariciones en México” en 2018 y del Concurso Internacional de Fotografía “Diversidad y Paz” en 2017. Cuando no está fotografiando, se dedica a diseñar estrategias de comunicación y relaciones públicas como consultora independiente.
