Hannah Yoon is a freelance photographer based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Wilfrid Laurier University and a college diploma in Photojournalism from Loyalist College. Hannah was the 2014 recipient of the Tom Hanson Photojournalism Award from the Canadian Press and a 2018 Magenta Flash Forward winner. Her work has been published in the New York Times, Washington Post, The Guardian, The Globe & Mail, Maclean’s Magazine and other online publications. She has three years’ experience working as a freelance photo editor for Maclean's Magazine. Hannah uses photography to understand and explore collective human experiences especially within underrepresented communities. She is a founding board member of the Authority Collective, a Gwen Ifill Fellow with the International Women's Media Foundation, and a member of Women Photograph and Diversify Photo.
