Indrani Basu is a senior planning producer for the BBC and based in the Washington, D.C. metro area. She has worked as a reporter and editor for over a decade, reporting and producing investigative stories on politics, criminal justice, urban development and the environment in India and in the United States. Most recently she was the managing editor for Votebeat, a collaborative newsroom covering the 2020 U.S. election. Previously, she was the news and politics editor at HuffPost India, which she helped launch in 2014. She has a masters degree from Columbia Journalism School, where she graduated with honors.
