Isabeth Mendoza is a daughter of Mexican immigrant parents based in East Los Angeles, where she is as an independent audio producer. She studied at UC Berkeley and Emory Rollins School of Public Health. Isabeth's work primarily focuses on intersectionality in health, particularly health disparities impacting communities of color in the U.S. Isabeth has served as the principal investigator for a research study on the “Knowledge, Access and Utilization of Health Services Among Transgender Individuals in México City, México” and guided masters students to develop and implement their own research projects. She is the creator and host of the Health of Color podcast and was the recipient of ProPublica's 2017 Diversity Scholarship, the Gates Millennium Scholarship and is a current AIR and NAHJ member.
