Jan Ross Piedad is the news operations producer for Texas Public Radio (USA) in San Antonio. She develops strategy on collaborative and digital projects for the newsroom and has served in a coordinating capacity for public radio stations in Texas since 2016. Born in the Philippines, Jan Ross is Texas-grown. While pursuing her bachelor’s degree in journalism at UT Austin, Jan Ross was selected for the University of Texas System’s Archer Fellowship in Washington, D.C., where she worked for the News Desk at NPR Headquarters and the network’s mid-day program, "Here & Now." She was also a member of the "Texas Standard" digital-first web team during the newsmagazine’s launch in 2015. Jan Ross is an alum of the Salzburg Academy on Media & Global Change, NPR's Next Generation Radio Project and the Age Boom Academy at Columbia University. She is interested in exploring issues around social inequity, global affairs and media literacy.
