Jane Hahn is an independent photographer covering the continent of Africa and beyond for over ten years from her current base in Dakar, Senegal. Her work ranges from news coverage to long term documentary projects focusing on issues from post conflict environments to everyday life. She has covered the Boko Haram conflict extensively and recently expanded her scope to document how the long running conflict has impacted the environmentally fragile Lake Chad Basin region. She frequently works with the Washington Post and the New York Times and has been published in Time, National Geographic, The New Yorker, Forbes, 6Mois, Geo, Marie Claire, International Herald Tribune, The Fader among others. She has also been awarded by Pictures of the Year International, British Journal of Photography and Open Society Initiative of West Africa.
