Karen Dias is a photojournalist based in her hometown of Mumbai, India. Her main interests lie in documenting human rights issues related to women and the environment. She previously spent 4 years working as a staff photojournalist at the national daily newspaper Gulf News based in Dubai, UAE. She has been a participant in the Angkor Photo Workshop and participated in group exhibitions in India, UAE and Indonesia. Since 2012, she has been freelancing for outlets such as the Washington Post, the Caravan, Outlook Traveler, Al Jazeera, the Guardian, BBC, National Geographic Traveler India, and Motherland. Dias will be reporting on the success of women athletes in Haryana, northern India.
