Laura Achieng’ Otieno is a television reporter with 5 years of experience in mainstream media. Having begun her training in radio, Laura has gathered a wealth of experience in the field of multimedia, cutting a niche in her area of operation where she currently works as a correspondent for Citizen TV, the leading television station in Kenya. With accolades from reputable science organizations such as Infonile and Media for Environment, Science, Health, and Agriculture (MESHA), Laura has won local grants to report on matters around the environment and health in the Lake Victoria Basin. She is currently interested in reporting on how marginalized groups in the Lake Victoria Basin have been affected by the coronavirus pandemic while keeping abreast on matters of the vaccine development for malaria and HIV, as the area she operates in carries Kenya’s highest burden of the two.
