
Laura Angela Bagnetto is a broadcast journalist with the English-language service at Radio France Internationale in Paris. She has held that position since 2008, covering African politics and development. She reported in Rwanda for the 20th commemoration of the genocide there, and she has covered a range of stories from the presidential elections in Zimbabwe to insecurity and food shortages in northern Niger. She began her career as a human rights reporter for Vatican Radio in Rome, later covering Middle East issues at the UN Security Council in New York. As a volunteer for International Farm Radio, she mentors African rural farming reporters. Bagnetto holds a bachelor’s degree in European social history from UCLA and a master's degree from the Columbia Graduate School of Journalism.
