Lauren DeCicca is a documentary photographer based in Bangkok and is the photojournalism advisor for the Round Earth Media program’s project in Thailand. DeCicca has spent nearly a decade in Southeast Asia covering political upheaval, humanitarian disasters, social issues and healthcare crises. Her work aims to bring focus to the individuals and communities who find themselves at the center of these events through images showcasing their struggles, joy and humanity. She has photographed on assignment for The New York Times, National Geographic, Getty Images, among others and her work has been recognized by Photos of the Year International and the Human Rights Press Awards.
