Leia Sexton (she/they) is a queer Appalachian educator from rural Kentucky. After snagging a B.A. in Peace & Social Justice from Berea College, their journalistic pursuits spawned in the wake of the 2020 racial justice protests in Louisville, KY. Outside of observing occupations & insurrections, Leia dives into plant-based cooking, painting, and web design. "This Fellowship would allow me to gain a deeper understanding of media safety and its application within my current documentarian adventures, then allow me to share that knowledge with others while helping women and minorities feel represented.
