Meg Bernhard is a freelance reporter and essayist from Southern California. She's written for The New York Times Magazine, The Los Angeles Times, Harper's Magazine, The New Yorker, the Virginia Quarterly Review, Catapult, Guernica, and others. An essay she wrote for Hazlitt about finding meaning in shared grief was published in the 2021 Best American Travel Writing anthology. She is currently working on a book about wine and power for Bloomsbury’s Object Lessons series.
