Morgana Vargas Llosa is a freelance photojournalist with more than 20 years experience. Her work has centered around the defense of human rights, seeking to emphasize the human aspect of vulnerable communities, particularly refugees displaced by warfare in areas like Iraq, Kosovo and Gaza. She has mostly published in El País/EPS magazine (Spain), but also in several media outlets in Peru and Latin America. Through the NGO UNVEIL she promotes storytelling projects to help give voices to those affected by humanitarian tragedies, such as the victims of the Shining Path in Peru, and to shed light on underrepresented communities. Recent multimedia projects include Mírame, Lima, Mírame, España o La Otra Ruta, focused on people trying to transform an adverse situation in their communities. She has received international awards and has published several books.
