Nathalie Nieves is an Assignment Editor for the CBS News National Desk based in New York City. She has worked at CBS News for two years. In this position, she oversees breaking news stories from across the country and gathers editorial on major news events, currently from her living room couch. She gathers stories that are topical, shocking or heartwarming and curates a news note that is read by over 1,000 CBS employees, setting the tone for what is covered that day on CBS This Morning with Gayle King, Weekend News and the Evening News with Norah O’Donnell. Her work has appeared in The New York Times and Refinery29. She is currently working on a Master's degree in English Literature at Queens College and spends much of her spare time writing research papers and reading everything from novels to literary theory.
