Noémie Serfaty is a French independent documentarist and journalist based in Oakland, California. Her first documentary, “Disintegration” covers social reproduction and the influence of sexism and colonialism in the French school system. Her recent work has focused particularly on community struggles against police violence. The Reporting Grants for Women’s Stories will be supporting Serfaty’s ongoing documentary following women leaders of the Black Lives Matter movement in Oakland, California.
