Odette Auger (Sagamok Anishnawbek) is an Anishinabekwe independent journalist living on the Klahoose, Homalco, and Tla'amin territories in the Pacific North West. Odette is an award-winning journalist, with themes ranging from environmental stories to social justice to art– covering territories from British Columbia to the Arctic to the Eastern Woodlands of Ontario. She has worked as the Local Journalism Initiative Health Reporter for IndigiNews, and initiated the Indigenous Reporter Mentorship, at Watershed Sentinel, serving as mentor.
