Olivia Samnick is a Berlin-based freelance journalist and filmmaker. She previously interned at the business magazine "impulse" in Hamburg and has written for publications like Übermedien, Medium Magazin, Katapult, GEO and Spiegel Online. Olivia specializes in documentary film-making and has contributed to projects by SKY, ZDF, and funk. She holds fellowships from the International Journalism Program (Sweden, 2021) and the European Journalism Fellowships (UK, Germany, 2020/21), where she conducted cross-border investigations. In 2022, Medium Magazine recognized her as one of the "Top 30 under 30 Journalists of the Year" for her debut documentary, "Jordan - Land of Refugees" (2019). She has over 5 years of experience and focuses on topics like migration, forced displacement, and social justice.
