Richie Ferrol is a well-respected professional in the Commonwealth of Dominica. He serves as a journalist, formerly with the WICE FM radio station, and has covered topics on crime, politics, social crises, and disasters. Richie conducted thorough coverage on the issues of The Farming Community of the Indigenous people of Dominica & the Layou River Fiasco involving WAVE and that of a well-known businessman. He also conducted investigations into Dominica’s Renewable Energy prospects in 2020 and 2021 respectively. He now works as a freelance journalist with a strong interest in stories which focus on climate justice, the environment and its preservation, human interest stories, eco friendly community-based programs, and environmental advocation. Richie was recently awarded a Climate Tracker Fellowship and contract to provide coverage for COP28. He has more than eight years experience in the media industry, with certification from the Media Institute of the Caribbean and the International Center for Journalist.
