Ritu Prasad is a journalist based in Chicago. She is currently a national digital editor with CNN. Her personal reporting interests include science, women's issues and healthcare. Previously, she was a news editor with the BBC's North America digital team in Washington, D.C., covering everything from the pandemic to politics for a global audience. Prior to her editing role, she was a generalist reporter on the same team for three years, writing a mix of daily news stories, explainers, and text features on a variety of topics. She interned with BBC teams focusing on radio and features in London before joining the DC bureau. Ritu holds a Master's degree from Northwestern's Medill School of Journalism. She graduated from the University of Chicago in 2014 with her Bachelor's in English and a minor in Biology.
