Sarah Sloan

Sarah Sloan is a USC Annenberg trained documentary journalist. Her media work has appeared on PBS, the North Carolina Channel, and in the News & Observer. She was the producer of the podcast series, Flood Zone, which was broadcast on Shoresides as well as WAMC, WOUB, and KBCS. Her short documentary series (six programs) on Hurricane Florence was broadcast by North Carolina Public Television, and presented by the Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting as an example of exemplary collaborative reporting. In 2022, she produced the documentary InJustice: Hidden Crisis in Virginia's Prison (premiering at Richmond International Film Festival). Sloan received a Social Impact Fellowship from Participant Media (Flee, American Factory, RBG). Sloan is a multimedia producer for Shoresides (shoresides.org) a regional news platform serving the rural coastal North Carolina. Her reporting has been funded by North Carolina Local News Lab, Google News Initiative, and Sea Grant/NOAA.
