Sheilla Nduhukire is a Ugandan based talented and enthusiastic senior News anchor and senior reporter with NTV Uganda. She has a deep understanding of the top political issues in the Great Lakes Region, and has covered the Ugandan parliament and regional politics; the 2017 Kenyan election, Rwanda election, AMISOM troop deployment in Somalia and the 2013 South Sudan conflict pitting Riek Machar and Salvar Kiir. She was also deployed to cover the 2016 conflict in the restive Kasese district in which Government bombed the palace of the omusinga wa Rwenzururu Charles Wesley Mumbere. Sheilla has interviewed Heads of States and news figures: Uganda’s President Yoweri Museveni; Uganda’s first Lady Janet Museveni, Opposition leader Dr Kizza Besigye, award winning Hollywood Actor Forest Whitaker, Kenyan Opposition leader Raila Odinga. Sheilla is also passionate about human rights, refugees, women and the Girl child. She currently runs an only girl’s mentorship programme called #GirlsBuildingGirls for young University students. In 2016, Sheila was recognized by the United Nations Population Fund as the best National news reporter. Sheila is also a fellow with the 2017 IWMF Great Lakes Reporting Initiative cohort. In 2013, she was voted the first female Guild President of Mbarara University and the President of the East African Community Student’s Union – a body that brings together all student’s in the East African Community. Sheila has previously worked as a Communication's Intern at Parliament of Uganda, a freelance journalist with Daily Monitor News paper and a Volunteer with Compassion International Uganda. Sheila holds a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration and is currently pursuing a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from the Eastern and Southern Africa Management Institute (ESAMI), Arusha Tanzania. Sheila is a Rotarian and a recipient of the prestigious Paul Harris Fellow and serves on the Rotary Uganda Public Relations Board.
