Svetlana Abrams

Svetlana Abrams holds a Bachelor of Social Science Degree in Communication Studies (Distinction) from the University of Guyana. She is a Freelance Journalist attached to News Source Guyana. Thirteen years into the field of Journalism, Svetlana Abrams specialises in Health Journalism, Politics, Legal Affairs, and Current Affairs. In December 2016, she was honoured by the Pan American Health Organisation/World Health Organisation (PAHO/WHO) after being adjudged the overall winner of the PAHO/WHO (Guyana Office) competition for Excellence in Health Journalism. She has had the privilege of conducting exclusive interviews with several ambassadors to Guyana, including former U.S Ambassador, D. Brent Hardt; former Deputy Chief of Mission at the American Embassy Bryan Hunt; former Canadian High Commissioner, Dr. Nicole Giles; and Cuba's Ambassador to Guyana Julio César González Marchante among others.
