Vivian Ho is a London-based freelance journalist with bylines in the Guardian, BuzzFeed News, Saveur, the New Republic, and the Lily. She previously worked for the Guardian US out of the team's west coast bureau, and the San Francisco Chronicle, covering crime and criminal justice. She specialises in longform stories delving into issues of inequity, race, housing, poverty, injustice, and mental health. Her nonfiction book on nomadic unhoused youth, "Those Who Wander: America's Lost Street Youth" was published in 2019. Vivan grew up in New England and graduated from Boston University in 2011.
